Special logo unveiled to mark 75 years of IndoNetherlands ties

  • A special logo was unveiled to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Netherlands, in March 2022.
  • The logo features a lotus and a tulip – the national flowers of both countries.
  • The chakra in the middle of the logo depicts the bond of the friendship.
  • Netherlands presented 3000 fresh tulips to India which were planted in the Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan gardens

Sikkim to provide Rs 20,000 each to all non-working mothers

  • The Sikkim government will implement the ‘Aama Yojna’ for non-working mothers and ‘Bahini’ scheme for girl students.
  • Under the ‘Aama Yojna’ scheme, all nonworking mothers in the state will receive Rs 20,000 each annually in their bank accounts.
  • In the ‘Bahini’ scheme the state government will provide free sanitary napkins to girl students studying in class 9 and above.

National Security Award for Thoothukudi Port

  • Thoothukudi Port Authority receives National Safety Award in recognition of Industrial and Port Security Performance
  • The award was received by the Chairman of the Ports Authority from the Central Government

Mount Merapi volcano erupts

  • Indonesia’s Mount Merapi volcano spewed avalanches of hot clouds in eruptions, that forced about 250 residents to flee to temporary shelters and left ash blanketing nearby villages and towns.

Swiss Air Line to be the first to use fuel made from sunlight

  • Swiss International Air Lines and its parent Lufthansa Group have signed an agreement with synthetic fuel group Synhelion to use its solar aviation fuel.
  • This will make SWISS the first airline in the world to use ‘sun-to-liquid’ fuel.
  • The process devised by Synhelion, a spinoff from the Swiss Institute of Technology, uses concentrated sunlight to produce carbonneutral kerosene.

Chennai Super Kings becomes India’s first Unicorn sports enterprise

  • Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has become the country’s first sports Unicorn with its market cap having touched a high of Rs 7,600 crores and its share in the grey market trading in the Rs 210-225 price band.
  • The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK won its fourth IPL title in Dubai
  • It now has a market cap more than its parent entity, India Cements.

India’s 1st medical city ‘Indrayani Medicity’

  • The state government of Maharashtra has announced to set up India’s first medical city named as ‘Indrayani Medicity’ in Pune, to provide all kinds of specialised treatment under one roof.
  • It will come up in 300-acre of land area in Khed taluka of Pune.
  • The project is estimated to attract investment worth over Rs. 10,000
  • Indrayani Medicity will have hospitals, centres for medical research, pharmaceutical manufacturing, wellness and physiotherapy, and will be first-of-itskind city in the country to have all the treatments available at one place.

Google’s Air Raid Alerts system

Singapore’s T Raja Kumar appointed President of FATF

  • Singapore’s T Raja Kumar has been appointed as the President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
  • His appointment, which begins on Jul 1, 2022, is for a fixed two-year term.
  • He will succeed Dr. Marcus Pleyer of Germany.
  • FATF is an inter-governmental bodyestablished by the G7 in 1989 that sets international standards to prevent and combat money laundering and terrorism.

Delhi HC Chief Justice DN Patel appointed as TDSAT Chairperson

  • The Centre has cleared the appointment of Delhi High Court Chief Justice DN Patel as the next Chairperson of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT).
  • Justice Patel will replace the current TDSAT Chairperson Justice Shiva Kirti Singh.
  • He will hold the post of TDSAT Chairman for a period of four years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
