‘Temple 360’ website launched at IGNCA, New Delhi

  • Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi launched the website ‘Temple 360’ on 2 April 2022.
  • It was launched at IGNCA Ampitheatre, Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts, New Delhi.
  • Temple 360 is a website where one can visit a temple of their choice, anytime and from anywhere in India.
  • It also allows a devotee to perform e-aarti and several other services.

NCW launches Anti-Human Trafficking Cell

  • The National Commission for Women has launched an Anti-Human Trafficking Cell.
  • It will improve effectiveness in tackling cases of human trafficking, raising awareness among women and girls, capacity building and training of Anti Trafficking Units, etc.
  • It will conduct Gender Sensitization Training and Workshops in combating human trafficking for police officers and for prosecutors.

TCS re-appoints Rajesh Gopinathan as MD and CEO for five years

  • The board of Tata Consultancy Services has re-appointed Rajesh Gopinathan as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for five years, from 21 Feb 2022 to 20 Feb 2027.
  • Rajesh Gopinathan has been the CEO and MD of TCS since 2017.
  • The company has also re-appointed N Ganapathy Subramaniam as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director from February 21, 2022, to May 19, 2024.

India’s first rapid rail for Delhi to Meerut corridor unveiled

  • India’s first rapid rail for the Delhi to Meerut corridor was unveiled by the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) in March 2022.
  • The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train will run on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor and cover a distance of 82 km in just 55 mins.
  • It will also be the first in the country to have a business or ‘premium’ coach on a regional corridor.

SBI to set up Innovation, Incubation and Acceleration Centre

  • State Bank of India (SBI) will set up an Innovation, Incubation and Acceleration Centre (IIAC) in Hyderabad.
  • This will be done in a bid to build in-house capability to bolster its current performance and drive higher top-line growth through innovation.
  • The centre will be operational within six to nine months of onboarding a consultant.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov becomes Turkmenistan’s new President

  • Serdar Berdimuhamedov has become Turkmenistan’s new President.
  • He will take over from his father and outgoing President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
  • He was serving as Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Gurbanguly.
  • Turkmenistan is a country in Central Asia and its capital is Ashgabat.
  • Its currency is Turkmenistani manat.

Neeraj Chopra wins ‘Sportstar of the Year (Male) award

  • Neeraj Chopra claimed the ‘Sportstar of the Year (Male)’ award at the 2022 Sportstar Aces Awards in March
  • Mirabai Chanu, who claimed the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, received the ‘Sportstar of the Year (Female)’ award.
  • Lovlina Borgohain won Sportswoman of the Year (Individual Sports), and Avani Lekhara won Parathlete of the Year (Female).

  • Alyssa Healy of Australia scored 170 runs in the match, the highest individual score made by any cricketer, male or female, in the World Cup Final. She was also the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 509
  • Player of the Tournament went to Alyssa Healy.
  • Sophie Ecclestone of England was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with 21
  • The 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup was the 12th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament was held in New Zealand from 4 March to 3 April

The 4th edition of India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS)

  • The 4th edition of India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS) was held at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi in Kerala from March 25 to 27,
  • IBMS is India’s only and most influential Boat and Marine industry related exhibition.
  • The event is organised by Kochi-based Cruz Expo.
  • The IBMS 2022 showcased leading international brands as well as indigenous boat manufacturers from across the country.

Appointment of 27 female judges in the High Courts in a year – Federal Information

500 kg bomb
